Jelly Donut or Avocado Toast? How do you want to feel?

Don't Underestimate Simplicity.

Here is a super simple recipe for some fall momentum. You need one question and you need 5 minutes every day. That is it. The simple question: "How do I want to FEEL?"

Using this question as your decision-maker, it quickly brings us and our desired intentions into clear focus.

Here are some examples:

5 minutes of strength training while you make your morning coffee, or five minutes of scrolling? Depends on how you want to feel.

5 minutes setting up an Informational interview, or five minutes of blaming AI for stealing all the jobs.

5 minutes briskly walking outside, or five minutes staring into the neon lit refrigerator?

5 minutes on LinkedIn reading & commenting on industry trends in your field, or 5 minutes being distracted by other social media.

5 minutes updating & refreshing your resume or enlisting a career coach, or 5 minutes mindlessly glossing over Indeed or Zip Recruiter?

5 minutes in the evening writing in a journal about a great day, or five minutes eating a bowl of ice cream?

And 100% Yes! Sometimes the clear winner is the jelly donut and the bowl of ice cream. For sure!

But clearly, the point is If we start with the mindset: How do I want to FEEL? (energized, focused, productive, strong, grateful, intentional, on purpose?) And we routinely allocate just 5 minutes each day, research and behavioral scientists tell us that good habits are already underway. It is a skill that needs to be practiced. A skill that relies on us to go to inward, to be self reflective, use our insight and trust our gut.

So let's not underestimate simplicity.

One 5 minute action can impact our entire day.
