Silence is not an Option

This is what PEACE looks like. Buddhist monks are joined on their “Walk for Peace” by all kinds of humans in South Carolina to peacefully protest our divided politics and humanity.

SILENCE IS NOT AN OPTION.

Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist: "The secret of life ... is to fall seven times and to get back up eight .."

Every morning this week I've woken up with same foreboding, important question: "What can I do?"

I do not have an answer, but I do know that fear and silence cannot win.

Fear knocks us down and keeps us small.

We need to be able to hear our hearts.

I've been trying to have a resilient conversation with my self, and when I am able to still my mind and quiet my soul -- it brings me to community.

We need to "circle up" in times like these.

May we each commit to circles where our values are centered first, and second we feel called to take at least one resilient step toward a more just and peaceful shared humanity.

In which circle do you see yourself showing up?

Engage - At work engage in tough conversation

Educate - Next Book Club choose and discuss a social & political non fiction read

Listen & Learn - Inside your faith communities share your HOPE & OPTIMISM

Join - A civic gathering or a peaceful protest

Attend then activate - after learning from a local lecture series

Support- Local non profit organizations with funds and human resources

Model - compassion and tolerant discourse at neighborhood or school pop up gatherings and conversations

There is genuine power and momentum found inside and around strong circles of committed humans.

Circle up.

Find your way in.

Listen to your heart.

Choose your word.

Peacefully activate.
